Purpose The purpose of this paper is to enhance the line congestion and minimize power loss. Transmission considered most acute trouble during operation system. Therefore, management acts as an effective tool in using available without breaking system hindrances or limitations. Design/methodology/approach Over past few years, determining optimal location size devices have pinched a great deal consideration. Numerous approaches been established mitigate rate, aims loss by compensation rate thyristor-switched capacitor (TCSC) adaptive moth swarm optimization (AMSO) algorithm. Findings An AMSO algorithm uses performances flame chaotic local search-based shrinking scheme bacterial foraging proposed approach executed discussed for IEEE-30 bus single TCSC dual TCSC. Originality/value In addition this, compared with various other existing approaches, results thus obtained provide better than techniques.
